My First Craft Fair!

Hi everyone!

As some of you may already know, I just recently participated in my first craft fair! It was at a neighborhood housing coop (which is a totally awesome thing). Apparently they do a craft fair there every year, but this was the first time I had participated. My Mom's friend, who lives in the coop, told me about it month and months ago, when I first started making cards, and I have been looking forward to it ever since! The last few days I was really nervous, and frantically trying to get organized and make as much stuff as possible. It didn't help that I had to spend that Saturday with Lila's father and his family (it wasn't bad - but it was stressful and time consuming, and she got super worn out.) But the craft show on Sunday was fun, and I can't wait to do more! According to some other vendors at the show it was pretty slow, I had about 8 sales which is more than I've had on Etsy so far! I was hoping for more, but totally happy just to get my work out in the community and learn what people thought of it! I got a lot of positive responses, and a lot of ideas of what people want and how much they are willing to spend. Here are some photos of the other tables at the fair:

I think there were about 20 other vendors, although she said at one point she has 40 signed up, it definitely wasn't that full. Here are some shots of my table:

As you can see, I had a little bowl of candy set out, and I also had some stickers that I handed out to kids! Can you tell what I made my card-holders out of? They are made of embroidery hoops and clothespins! I fastened the clothespins with rubber bands. Its pretty bare-bones but people seemed to appreciated the hand-made nature of it! I may paint the display for future shows.

If I do more shows, I will need to find myself an assistant who can help me watch Lila! Luckily my Mom was available and came and brought her home about halfway through, she wouldn't have lasted the whole time. But I think she enjoyed the time she spent there, I know everyone else enjoyed her!

Anyways I would say it was a pretty fun experience and I look forward to doing many more shows in the future!
